A multilingual VR experience and digital resource hub for people with disabilities.
Accessing the Australian National Disability Insurance Scheme and navigating the public health system can be difficult at the best of times. Let alone when english isn’t your first language.
That’s why, in partnership with the NDIS and Cultural Perspectives we created MiAccess. A website that brings together high-quality translated information about disability and the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
MiAccess is designed to inform and empower people with disability from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds to access information that is essential in both understanding disability environments and accessing the NDIS.
The website was developed in consultation with people with disability from CALD backgrounds and community groups. This engagement ensures both relevance and appropriateness for CALD audiences.
To compliment the digital resource hub, we produced 5 multilingual VR pieces for in-community education. Designed to be incorporated in community workshops, the VR experiences highlight the experience of young people from different backgrounds accessing the NDIS and integrating it into their lives providing transformational in-language experiences for parents and carers of people with a disability from a CALD background.
